Quick Ways to Get More Online Reviews for your Gym

Wanting more clients?

Guaranteed, you can find them on the internet. Or, more likely, they’ll find you on the internet.

And when they do, what are they going to think? They could think, “Hey, this place looks serious, I’ll check it out.” Or they could think, “Is this gym even legit? I think I’ll try another one.”

Having a good number of reviews online shows people that your gym is a popular place to be and helps them trust that you offer good service to your gym members. You can’t afford to miss out on this, but at the same time, isn’t it your gym members’ jobs to write the reviews?

Yes, but they might need a little prompting!

Let’s dive into four quick ways to get more reviews.

Tactic #1

Harness the power of your newsletter. If you’re already sending out a regular newsletter to your gym users, this is a great opportunity to regularly remind your members to leave an online review. Just include a regular block in each newsletter asking for reviews and listing where you would like members to leave their reviews.

Tactic #2

Reach out to new members. After a new member has joined your gym, pick a standard waiting time (i.e. two months) to reach out to them and ask for a review. After that time, let them know with a smile that a review would be helpful and reach out to them over email with a reminder.

Tactic #3

Cast your net on social media. Here’s an easy and natural way to ask for reviews from your social media followers. Just post your most recent five star review and share how much you love it, then mention that more reviews would be great and include links.

Tactic #4

Incentivize reviews (without technically doing so). You know that review sites don’t like you incentivizing anyone to leave you a review. That’s because it can lead to unauthentic or false reviews. Definitely don’t actually pay or otherwise reward anyone for leaving a review for you on any online listing. You can however incentivize your gym users to leave you an offline review and then politely ask them to copy and paste it on Google, Facebook, Yelp, etc.
